As Luck Would Have It

I am excited to be a part of the As Luck Would Have It exhibit at 13Forest gallery. The exhibit is up until September 22. My piece Double Black Cat plays on notions of what is considered lucky or not and superstitions about good and bad luck.

I will be teaching “Develop Your Sketchbook” class at the Mosesian Center for the Arts, Watertown starting September 12, 2023.

I am thrilled to be teaching in person again!I have missed teaching in the last few months and having the opportunity to teach again is very exciting! This class is for everyone who would like to get back to art making without the pressure of creating a finished product. It is about experimenting, learning new things, developing ideas and having fun. More information can be found on the Mosesian Arts wesite.

Experimental Printmaking Class

I will be teaching an Experimental Printmaking class at Mosesian Arts starting on September 13, 2023.

Here is a short description of the class:

Work with experienced printmaker Boriana Kantcheva to learn different ways to create collagraph plates and combine them with monotype. In this 8-week class students will focus on exploring a variety of techniques without the harsh chemicals usually associated with some of the intaglio techniques. We will explore the expressive line of dry point and will learn how to achieve a variety of tones using carborundum and some of the Golden Acrylic Paint mediums. Students will be introduced to making collagraph plates - from the materials they need to use to how to print the plates. Students will learn how to use monotype to add color to their prints and how to use stencils to achieve layered print.
